Here are places you can get vaccinated in Milwaukee
On any given day, you can find pop-up vaccine clinics throughout Milwaukee. But the time might be especially right to get a shot if you haven’t already.
A new variant of COVID-19, known as the Delta strain, has made its way to the United States and is expected to overtake the B.1.1.7. strain, known as the Alpha variant, as the dominant strain in the country.
Dr. Ben Weston, director of medical services for the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management, said in a media briefing this week that the Delta strain was expected to be about 40% more contagious than the Alpha variant.
Weston said the Delta strain may cause more severe illness as well. However, he noted that the vaccines were still effective against the strain and urged those who are unvaccinated to get a shot.
“With this more contagious and potentially more severe variant rising in the United States, now is the time to get vaccinated,” Weston said.
Below is a list of pop-up vaccine clinics in the Milwaukee area for this weekend. There are also a number of places to get your vaccine practically any day of the week.
